I'm a web developer based in Manchester, England. I also design websites.  I generally favour open-source technologies such as PHP, MySQL and JQuery, and I have extensive experience using Drupal.  I do believe, however, in using the appropriate tool for the job - and not just what's flavour of the month.  Indeed, my background also includes stints with Java and JSP, Oracle, PL/SQL and numerous other technologies.

My experience spans a range of industries.  I worked for two global I.T. consultancies in the oil industry, before joining the UK's largest university. In the interim I worked for a variety of smaller firms, before joining the Manchester digital agency scene, both as a freelancer and as a full-time Technical Manager / Head of Technical.
